Summary: Though late to the game, a few details concerning Sony’s first Android tablet, dubbed the Tablet S, are starting to emerge.

Sony’s previously announced S1 tablet has an official name: The Tablet S.

That’s the story according to Engadget, which uncovered both the tablet’s official title and release window. Sony is expected to ship the device in the first two weeks of September. The Tablet S features a 9.4-inch screen, Android 3.1, and the ability to seamlessly transfer (or “throw”) content to DLNA-certified devices like speakers and televisions.

Not mentioned in the story is the device’s expected price, which is a key detail. Also unknown is the status of the dual-screened S2 tablet, which Sony also announced earlier this year.
