Aaron Lee, Taipei; Adam Hwang, DIGITIMES [Wednesday 5 October 2011] Hewlett-Packard (HP) and Dell will launch ultrabooks at the end of 2011 and the first quarter of 2012 respectively, according to Taiwan-based supply chain makers. HP has had Taiwan-based Quanta Computer prepare to start ODM production of its ultrabooks at the end of 2011, while Wistron is designing a 14-inch model for Dell for debut in the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the sources indicated. Wistron is the ODM for Acer's 13,3-inch Aspire S3, Compal Electronics makes Acer's 15-inch Aspire S3 and Lenovo's IdeaPad U300s, and Pegatron Technology manufactures Asustek's 11.6-inch UX21 and 13-inch UX31, the sources indicated.
